Following the recent passing of Mr. TUNG Chee Hwa, former Chief Executive of the HKSAR and former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Funeral Committee has issued an obituary announcing that the public memorial service will be held on September 20 (Sunday) at 9:00 AM at the Hong Kong Funeral Home. To align with the mourning arrangements and express our deep condolences, we have decided to cancel the physical road run originally scheduled for September 20, after careful consideration.
Although the physical event is cancelled, our Special Olympics athletes still need continuous support from all sectors of society. Therefore, the “Virtual Run” charity fundraising activity will proceed as scheduled. We sincerely invite and appeal to all law enforcement officers and members to continue your invaluable support through the virtual format:
- Event Format: Virtual Free Run
- Distance: 3.5 km
- Method: Participants may choose their own time and route within the event period to complete the 3.5 km fundraising run, joining hands to light the “Flame of Hope” for Special Olympics athletes.
